Admin vs Productivity
I've a busy week or so ahead of me working on finishing off a few new projects and several updates on existing sites including:
- some new photos in the portfolio of Aragon Electronic Services
- a range of additions and rearrangements to Escape Outdoors
- Additions and updates to the Palaeontological Association online shoping system to bring it into line with new Credit Card procesing rules.
It is nice however to actually be working on some coding as recently I seem to have been spending the majority of my time in meetings with clients or working on administrative tasks. The admin will of course continue with couple of tenders to write and a meeting with the University of Wales, Aberystwyth Estates Office this afternoon to discuss the way forward for the integration of their website and their facility management software.
I shall also be spending some time later this week teaching a new client some of the best practices as far as web-site design, usability and search engine optimisation go. I enjoy the tuition side of my job as it gets me in contact with new people and allows me to pass on my enthusiasm fo certain aspects of web design. I also seem to learn new things whilst teaching others which is always satisfying.
