Dental Practice Website Goes Live

June 8th, 2023

Pixelwave Web Design is pleased to announce to release of a brand new website for Bistre Dental Practice in North Wales.

This was a lovely website to work on and great clients to work for. It’s always nice when clients are responsive to your questions and forthcoming with content, so all went smoothly. I was given pretty much free rein with the design and layout. The structure of the site was mine to organise too so the initial build was relatively painless and the clients loved it. From there it was really just a case of building the various pages and adding the content. Some of the content was generated by Pixelwave Web Design with feedback from the clients.

Thankfully, feedback was good throughout the build process with the final comments from Bistre Dental practice being:

“Hi Alan, it’s absolutely amazing. Really happy with it….. You deserve it. A brilliant job on the website.”

I can’t ask for more than that – other than the fact that they paid on time too. 🙂

So, if you’re in North Wales and need a dentist then check out Bistre Dental Practice.

Website Design for Dentist Practice in Wales

March 31st, 2023

Pixelwave Web Design has just started work on a new project for a dentist practice in North Wales. I’ve built websites for dentist in north and Mid Wales previously so have a good idea of what is required and have therefore been given a fairly free rein with the design.

I had an online meeting with them last week and have now made a start on the overall look and feel of the site. As soon as I have some specific content from them I’ll be able to start adding the main pages.

I don’t have huge numbers of projects on the go these days as I’ve started a new job at Aberystwyth University as a Digitial Content Manager for a large project there. I have also been asked to work on a number of other website projects at the University so that’s keeping me busy at the moment. It’s nice to have a few different things to work on though, and I’m looking forward to getting the site for Bistre Dental Practice live soon. I’m pleased with my efforts so far so I hope the clients like it too.

I don’t want to give too much away but the screen shot on the right is what I’ve done so far so the Home Page is taking shape.

Holiday House Website Goes Live

June 13th, 2022

Pixelwave Web Design is pleased to announce that the brand new website I’ve built for a local holiday house has just gone live.

Llys Alaw is a large luxury family holiday home near to Aberystwyth. No expense has been spared in it’s renovation and facilities so it had to have a website to match. The owners of the house also run a caravan park. Pixelwave Web Design built and has managed the website for the caravan park for many years so they approached me to build the website for their latest project. I love the new website, as do the owners, so I hope you do to.

It showcases the various highlight so the house (there are many!), includes information on local pubs and restaurants. It has information about places to visit and of course contains contact info and an online booking facility.

Holiday Rental Property Website Design

September 13th, 2021

Pixelwave Web Design has been working on a new website for a brand new, luxury holiday rental property just outside of Aberystwyth. Llys Alaw is the latest project from Priscilla and Bryn for whom I built the Erwbarfe Caravan Park website many years ago. Having managed their site all this time they came to me when they needed a website for their new property.

Llys Alaw is the “ultimate stylish pad in the heart of the Cambrian Mountains”. It’s luxury accommodation and spectacular exterior living areas needed a website to suit. I think I’ve delivered just such a site and Priscilla and Bryn like it too, saying:

Wow Wow Wow !!!!!

It looks fantastic Alan !!!!!!!!!

Bryn and I are over the moon with it – exactly what we were looking for, thank you so much!!

It’s got the exact modern feel that we were wanting, with the large pictures etc….and the text format goes really well with it too.

Priscila & Bryn – Llys Alaw

Check it you for yourself here and maybe treat yourself to that luxury holiday you’ve always wanted!

VetHub1 Website goes Live

November 14th, 2020

Pixelwave Web Design is pleased to have launched the VetHub1 website.

Based on an easy to use Content Management System, the website is now live for all to see. Staff at VetHub1 have been trained to use it so should be updating it themselves from now on. All were extremely pleased with the final site and are looking forward to maintaining it.

VetHub1 is a £4.2m EU-Backed Innovation Cluster to provide Animal Health/Bio Secure Facilities. Set in the heart of the Aberystwyth University campus with access to world leading academic expertise and state of the art laboratory equipment. It will have an important role to play in developing research. This in turn has an impact on the communities it serves. VetHub1 will make a valuable contribution to the rural economy and to the livestock industry here in Wales and further afield. I’m proud to be working in collaboration on this project.

The website itself outlines the research being undertaken at the centre and showcases the facilities and services offered by VetHub1. I’m looking forward to working on further enhancements and projects for them in the future.

Borth Family Centre Website Goes Live

April 15th, 2020

Pixelwave Web Design has just released a brand new website for the Borth Family Centre.

Built around an easy to use Content Management System the site will be updated by centre staff to keep the local community up to date with all of the news and activities at the centre.

Due to the current Covid-19 crisis there was quite a shift in emphasis during the building of the site. The crisis hit halfway through the project so the aims and activities of the centre changed somewhat. The Borth Family Centre had to close and the staff turned their attention and resources to co-ordinating the communities response to the Covid-19 crisis and providing support to those in need. This meant a re-writing of much of the content, a slight re-organisation of the site structure and an urgency to get the site live so as to convey the latest Covid-19 help and advice to members of the community.

I of course relished the challenge, advised on the restructuring, copy-wrote much of the content and had the site up and running in no time. There will of course be lots of changes to make once things are back to normal and activities resume at the Borth Family Centre, but the fact that the site is based on a CMS should make this an easy process.

All involved are pleased with the site, and I think it looks nice as well as being functional.

As always, it’s good to work with local organisations as it allows face to face meetings, but in this instance these meetings had to stop halfway through the project. I usually provide a face to face tutorial session to those members of staff who will be using the CMS as well. This covers the basic steps required to add to and edit the site and also explains some of the nuances of things such as SEO, accessibility and image optimisation so as to assist them in making their site as efficient as possible. Again, I’m unlikely to be able to provide this for a while due to the lockdown situation and social distancing measures in place so I may have to organise a remote video link to do so.

CMS for Bedminster Road Garage Website

April 15th, 2020

Pixelwave Web Design has just completed a quick project to turn the Bedminster Road Garage website that I built back in 2009 into an all singing, all dancing Content Management System based website.

This means that the garage staff can now easily add to and update the content of the site. They can change the text, add new pages, add images and keep the site and therefore all of their customers up to date with just a few clicks of a mouse.

I gave them the ‘keys to the kingdom’ yesterday, and having checked this morning I can see that they have already updated most of the pages and things are looking good.

Website Design for Borth Family Centre

March 10th, 2020

Pixelwave Web Design has recently started work on a brand new website for the Borth Family Centre. Based in the seaside village of Borth, West Wales the Borth Family Centre offers activities, groups and community support to all ages.

Their website will be based around an easy to use Content Management System so that they will be able to keep it up to date with all the latest news from the Centre. Timetables will be posted regularly as will updates to all of the activities and groups that are part of the centre. The site itself will contain important information about the centre itself and all of the things it offers. It will act as a central hub for all users to find out more and provide a useful tool for keeping users up to date.

The site will have a friendly, welcoming look and should be easy to use for both visitors and administrators alike. Watch this space for a release of the site sometime soon.

Online Ordering for Gallery Aberdyfi

March 10th, 2020

After many successful years as a ‘bricks and mortar art gallery’, Gallery Aberdyfi entered the online world back in 2016 when Pixelwave Web Design first built a website for them. Since then the website has been quite an asset for the business and always gets positive comments from their customers from both near and far.

Glyn and Claire always comment on how pleased they are with the website whenever I’m in contact with them and the Content Management side of it has allowed them to easily keep it up to date with their latest works of art. In fact, the website has been such a success that they have recently asked me to add a system for easy online ordering to the site.

They didn’t necessarily need a full blown shopping cart system and wanted to keep the site looking as it as has, namely as an online gallery rather than an eCommerce site. I wanted to keep things easy to use for them as well so came up with a solution that allows them to add PayPal shopping cart buttons to the site.

Not only can they adjust the prices and availability of individual items whenever they wish, they can easily toggle the whole system on or off as well. This was a feature request as there may be times in the future when they may not be around to fulfil orders and would therefore prefer to ‘shut up shop’ for a time.

All is live with the new system now, it couldn’t be easier to use and they can switch it on and take orders from anywhere in the world whenever they want.
